POP Up's can not be ignored in this fast new world.
But what seems obvious today was not the same 30 years ago!
With Temporary Contemporary we were pioneering in poping up here and there with art.
The story of Moses and the mountain.
For nothing we want to change our heaven on earth in the shadow of the former Scholteshof in Stevoort.
Green, calm, easily accessible, always parking, nice neighbors, but ...
not really the epicenter of the contemporary art world.
That's why we occasionally pop up to surprise people who do not reach us and surprise them with our quality.
Until the end of May 2017 there was Helabar. Not just for art, this time. During the day, you could enjoy a nice Monx coffee or a wine and discover beautiful pieces of design. In the evening, delicious cocktails were chopped. An initiative of Comosie together with Lutio and Bar Louwie.
Minderbroedersstraat 5 in Hasselt.
Sara Bomans drawings decorated the windows of the NMBS building (thanks to Printsalon) and Arne Reynaert's work gave color to the temporary bar in Spijshuis Schoofs and Aichacreafood. Also a project of Comosie and Lutio.
Comosie also joined Genk. Tempola Design revives the Molenstraat and we were allowed to participate.
Nice, very affordable artwork. True art for a dot, on the wall of the cozy cafe.
At the beginning of May, Deputy Minister for Culture Igor Philtjens opened our pop up in the presence of the artists.
In a stately building on the Thonissenlaan, opposite the building where we started ARTANDADVICE 28 years earlier.
In addition to work by Liesje Reyskens, Jacqueline Devreux and Liliane Vertessen, visitors could meet with
Frits Jeuris's original furniture creatures.
During the night of art 2016, photographer Alexandra Bertels surprised the visitors with a portrait.
ARTANDADVICE popped up @ Night Shift, a hip and young bursary concept.
One night, many like-minded, loose atmosphere and networks!
We surprised with a "living" portrait of Liesje Reyskens.
AIM Architects made their beautiful buildings (Turnhoutse School!) and dito gardens available for a presentation of
recent outdoor sculptures from LMG Ploem.
The numerous invitees could witness the perfect symbiosis of tight architecture and organic sculpture,
and of a selection of wines from Selezione Vini Itali by Toni Etneo.
At the request of the municipality of Houthalen-Helchteren, ARTandADVICE received the honor of completing the first edition of Houthalense Hemels.
The coordination of these annual solo exhibitions is in the hands of designer Linde Hermans.

The choice included Hilde Overbergh, Tjen Meylemans, Fred Michiels, Luc Hoekx, Geert De Smet, Georges Meurant, Ivan Popovic, Julie Sheurweghs,

Also Léopoldine Roux passed the revue at the exhibition series in the Cooperative with a colorful and flavored expo.
ARTandADVICE invited Jimmy Kets and Julie Scheurweghs to stay for 10 days and in the meantime portray the city of Hasselt.
It resulted in a very personal duo expo "The graves are nice this time of the year"
The result was shown in the Cultural Center of Hasselt.
Solo presentation with recent work of Ivan Popovic.
Invitated by Martin Groenendijck and in collaboration with Velaert Architects and Democo, ARTandADVICE popped up in Antwerp.
Sculptures of LMG Ploem were incorporated into the façade and at the ground floor Temporary Contemporary opened a gallery for a month.
